I was lucky enough to spend the last month in Thailand with my fiancee.
Let me tell you, although spending every waking moment with someone for 30 days isn’t always easy, it sure deepens experiences in our relationship and in life! And not only that, it gives you lots to talk about, and things to reminisce about.
People often ask us about our adventures, and although it’s great to share the stories, just the two of us know exactly what happened… and no matter how great a story teller you are, you won’t be totally included into every detail unless you were there.
The good news is, you don’t have to go to Thailand for a month to experience this amazing affect on relationships. You can get it right at home, it just requires a sense of adventure, and a little bit of an out-going attitude.
Here are some ideas:
- take a cooking course together
- join a co-ed sports team together
- go to a B&B a couple hours out of town
- save up and go to an expensive restaurant
- if you can afford it, TRAVEL!
- go on a road trip together
- visit amusement parks / go get lost in a corn maze together
And I’m sure you can think of many more things to suit your lifestyle and interests.
What I have found is that, the successful relationships have lasted for years have fun when they look back at what they accomplished together, what they wouldn’t have done on their own.
Be the person that initiates adventure in your relationship and your partner will have a fabulous time with you. And that’s what it is all about!
Stay tuned until next time,
Evan Michaels
